Stephen Drew

Drew was scratched from the Arizona Diamondbacks lineup on Saturday with a sore right hand. He is expected to play on Sunday.

The Arizona Diamondbacks optioned Drew to Triple-A Tucson Monday, ending his bid to start his second pro season with the major league club. Arizona's first-round pick in 2004 hit .314 with four doubles and a homer in 16 games this spring, and his chances of starting the year with Arizona were bolstered when starting shortstop Craig Counsell was bothered by a shoulder ailment in camp.
