Yorman Bazardo

5/27/2005

The Florida Marlins purchased Bazardo's contract from Double-A Carolina in time for Thursday's meeting with the New York Mets. The 20-year-old righthander made his major league debut in the contest and looked a bit nervous, allowing four earned runs on five hits in 1.2 innings. He struck out two and walked a pair. Shortly after the game, Bazardo was optioned back to the minor league club to open a spot on the roster for Guillermo Mota.
