Keith Reed

5/11/2005

To replace the injured Luis Matos on the roster, the Baltimore Orioles recalled Reed on Wednesday. The 26-year-old outfielder was the Orioles' first-round pick in 1999, a tools-rich player who has taken a long time to convert those tools into useful skills. He gets his first major league opportunity after hitting .267 with four homers and 11 RBI for Ottawa.

Don't look for Reed to start, but with the injuries to Matos and Sammy Sosa, Reed may get some playing time.
