Ring has been recalled from Triple-A Norfolk by the New York Mets, filling the roster spot of the struggling Mike Matthews, who was designated for assignment on Monday. In six appearances with the minor league club this season, the lefthander allowed just one run on seven hits in nine innings of work. He struck out seven and walked three over that span.

Ring will pitch in middle relief for the Mets and doesn't have any fantasy value at this point.
