Dave Gassner

4/21/2005

With Carlos Silva activated from the disabled list on Thursday, Gassner was optioned to Triple-A Rochester to make room for him. Gassner made two starts during his first taste of the majors. He was impressive in shutting down Cleveland for six innings in his big league debut on April 16, a 6-4 win, and he was roughed up by the Royals in the Twins' come-from-behind, extra-inning victory on Thursday.

Gassner departs with a 1-0 mark and 5.87 ERA in two starts and 7.2 innings.
