Koo has been activated from the 15-day disabled list by the New York Mets. The 36-year-old lefthander missed nearly a month with soreness in his pitching shoulder after bruising his rotator cuff on a headfirst slide into home plate during a game against the Yankees on May 21. He takes the roster spot of struggling reliever Mike DeJean, who was released by the club.

Koo has been battling soreness in his pitching shoulder since bruising his rotator cuff on a headfirst slide into home plate during a game against the Yankees on May 21. As a result, the Mets have decided to place the struggling lefthander on the 15-day disabled list to allow him to rest and recover. Filling the spot in the bullpen and on the roster will be fellow southpaw Royce Ring.
