John Gall

8/10/2005

Despite their injury problems in the outfield, the St. Louis Cardinals have optioned Gall back to Triple-A Memphis. The outfielder/first baseman made his major league debut late last month and appeared in just nine games during his short stint with the club, going 4-for-18 (.222) with two doubles, two RBI and three strikeouts.

Gall will be recalled from Triple-A Memphis by the St. Louis Cardinals in time for the start of a three-game series against the San Diego Padres on Tuesday. The outfielder will be filling the roster spot of veteran Larry Walker, who will land on the 15-day disabled list because of his nagging neck problem. In 88 games with the minor league club this season, Gall was batting .270 with 10 home runs and 47 RBI.
