The Royals recalled Blanco from Triple-A Omaha on Wednesday. Blanco, who was hitting .235 with two home runs and 20 RBIs in 82 games with Omaha, will take the roster spot of infielder Tony Graffanino, who was traded Tuesday to the Milwaukee Brewers.

The Kansas City Royals have recalled Blanco from Triple-A Omaha. When fellow rookie Donnie Murphy comes off the disabled list this weekend, he and Blanco are expected to platoon at second base for the rest of the season. The 21-year-old Blanco batted .254 with a .331 on-base percentage in 35 games for Omaha.
