Frank Brooks

5/22/2005

Brooks spent roughly 10 days with Atlanta after Kevin Gryboski went on the disabled list with a viral infection. Brooks made just one appearance, allowing a hit in one-third of an inning for the Braves. Gryboski returned on Sunday, and Brooks has been optioned back to Triple-A Richmond.

Brooks has been recalled from Triple-A Richmond by the Atlanta Braves, filling the roster spot of reliever Kevin Gryboski, who will be out until at least May 22 with a viral infection. The lefthander, who was claimed off waivers from the Los Angeles Dodgers last month, made his major league debut with the Pittsburgh Pirates last season, going 0-1 with a 4.67 ERA in 11 appearances, including one start. He struck out 18 and walked nine in 17.1 innings of work.

Brooks will pitch in relief and have little to no fantasy value.
