With lefthander Casey Fossum stepping into the Tampa Bay rotation to replace the demoted Dewon Brazelton, the Rays have recalled the lefthanded Switzer to assumer Fossum's duties in the bullpen. The 25-year-old Switzer appeared briefly with the Rays in 2003, but missed all of 2004 following shoulder surgery.

Switzer was 3-1 with a 3.45 ERA in six starts for Double-A Montgomery, allowing 33 hits in 31.1 innings, but striking out 20 and walking only five.
