Gonzalez was recalled from Triple-A Tucson to start Thursday's game against the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. To make room on the roster, the Diamondbacks optioned right-hander Casey Daigle to Tucson.

Gonzalez, who came up from Triple-A Tucson on Friday, stayed for just the weekend. The 22-year-old righthander was optioned back to Tucson Sunday, in order to make room on the roster for reliever Greg Aquino coming off the disabled list. Gonzalez was roughed up in his only appearance for Arizona on Friday, allowing two hits, two walks and four runs over one-third of an inning in relief.

On Friday, the Arizona Diamondbacks optioned veteran Mike Koplove to Triple-A Tucson and recalled Gonzalez. The 22-year-old Gonzalez was 6-1 with an impressive 3.00 ERA in 12 starts at Tucson.
