Koyie Hill

9/5/2005

The Arizona Diamondbacks recalled Hill over the weekend. The catching prospect batted .244 with five homers and 26 RBI in 50 games for Triple-A Tucson. In 31 games for the Diamondbacks this season, he is hitting .227 with four doubles and six RBI in 66 at-bats.

After being recalled on July 20, the Diamondbacks have sent Hill back down to Triple-A Tucson. Hill had been called up to help with the catching duties while Kelly Stinnett nursed a strained tendon. With Stinnett coming back, the team no longer needed Hill as a replacement.

Hill has been recalled from Triple-A Tucson by the Arizona Diamondbacks, replacing fellow catcher Kelly Stinnett, who is out for the next couple of weeks with a strained tendon in his wrist. Hill began the 2005 campaign with the Diamondbacks, but hit just .212 with 18 strikeouts in 56 at-bats and was demoted to the minor league club in May.

Hill was optioned to the Diamondbacks' Triple-A club in Tucson, with veteran catcher Kelly Stinnett coming on board to serve as the D-Backs' backup catcher.
