Ryan has signed a minor league deal with the Atlanta Braves. The 28-year-old outfielder batted .231 with five doubles, two homers and 13 RBIs in 117 at-bats with Minnesota in 2005.

After Friday night's costly loss to the Boston Red Sox, the Minnesota Twins put center fielder Torii Hunter on the 15-day disabled list with a serious ankle injury and recalled Ryan to fill his roster spot. Ryan had been optioned out last weekend to make room for a starting pitcher. In 26 games with the Twins this season, Ryan is batting .268 with six RBI.

The Minnesota Twins optioned Ryan to Triple-A Rochester on Saturday and recalled pitcher Scott Baker. Baker is scheduled to start the second game of Saturday's day-night doubleheader against the Tigers. Ryan is hitting .268 in 26 games with the Twins this season.

The Minnesota Twins recalled Ryan from Triple-A Rochester Wednesday. The 27-year-old outfielder was batting .301 with six homers and 25 RBI for Rochester.
