Phillips continues to hit. He went 3-for-6 with a double, homer and four RBIs Sunday in Cincinnati's 11-0 romp over Milwaukee. During his run, he is 14-for-31 (.452) with four doubles, three homers and an incredible 17 RBIs.

A change of scenery can make all the difference. Phillips, a former Indians prospect acquired by Cincinnati on April 7, hit a pair of home runs and drove in six in the Reds' 12-8 win over Milwaukee on Thursday. The Reds came back from a 6-2 deficit with 10 straight runs in the middle innings. Phillips capped a five-run sixth with a grand slam.

The Cleveland Indians optioned Phillips to Triple-A Buffalo on Monday. The middle-infield prospect, who had been with the Tribe for three weeks, spent most of his time working on shortening his swing with hitting coach Derek Shelton. He went 0-for-9 with four strikeouts in six games with Cleveland.

Cleveland recalled Phillips from Triple-A Buffalo on Saturday, and immediately put him into the starting lineup at second base for that afternoon's game against the New York Yankees. Phillips has spent all year with the Triple-A club, batting .252 with 11 home runs and 33 RBI. To make room on their roster, the Indians optioned pitcher Brian Tallet to Buffalo.
