Jae Seo

3/19/2006

Seo pitched five scoreless innings in Korea's loss to Japan in a World Baseball Classic semifinal game on Saturday.

8/14/2005

Seo continues to impress the Mets, tossing eight innings of one-run, five-hit ball in a 5-1 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers Saturday. In five starts this year, he is now 4-1 with a 1.35 ERA and a 24-5 strikeout-walk ratio in 33.1 innings.

8/7/2005

The New York Mets recalled Seo on Saturday to make the day's start against the Chicago Cubs. The 28-year-old righthander limited the Cubs to four hits and a walk over 7.1 scoreless innings to claim the 2-0 win.

5/5/2005

Seo notched the win in Wednesday's 3-2 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies, allowing just one hit over seven shutout innings, striking out eight and walking two. The solid performance was not enough to keep the righthander in the rotation, as the Mets' optioned him to Triple-A Norfolk shortly after the game. The move was made to open a spot on the roster for Kris Benson, who was activated from the 15-day disabled list.

Seo has made three starts for the Mets so far this season, going 2-1 with a 2.00 ERA. He'll join Norfolk's starting rotation.

4/23/2005

Seo was called up by the Mets on Saturday from Triple-A Norfolk to take the place of injured Kazuhisa Ishii. Seo will start on Saturday against the Nationals.

Seo was 5-10 with a 4.90 ERA for the Mets in 2004.
