Corky Miller

5/4/2005

On Wednesday, the Minnesota Twins outrighted Miller to Triple-A Rochester. The 29-year-old catcher appeared in just five games and went 0-for-12 at the plate this season.

The move suggests that the Twins are confident about Joe Mauer's recovery from knee surgery. Outrighting Miller allows the club to recall Terry Tiffee from Rochester. During his month-long stay with Minnesota, Miller continued a futile stretch of hitting that dates back to September 2003. He has one hit in his last 55 major league at-bats, thanks to a 1-for-39 stint with the Reds in 2004 and his 0-for-12 with the Twins this spring.
