Jason Jennings

7/22/2005

After being forced to leave Wednesday's game against the Nationals after injuring the middle finger on his pitching hand, Jennings will now be forced to miss the rest of the season with what has now been diagnosed as a fractured right finger. Jennings was 6-9 this season with a 5.02 ERA through 20 games this season. He was placed on the 15-day disabled list on Saturday.

Jennings was forced to leave Wednesday's game against the Washington Nationals after spraining the middle finger on his pitching hand while sliding into second base in the sixth inning. The Rockies' righthander, who allowed two runs on four hits in five innings prior to his departure, will undergo X-rays on Thursday to determine the extent of the injury, but more than likely, he'll be forced to miss at least one start.

Jennings notched his 25th win at Coors Field in Tuesday's victory over the St. Louis Cardinals, becoming the winningest pitcher in the 10-year history of the park. The Rockies' righthander allowed just one run on six hits over seven innings, striking out four and walking three.
