Scott Seabol

5/12/2005

With third baseman Scott Rolen landing on the 15-day disabled list with a left shoulder injury, the St. Louis Cardinals have recalled Seabol from Triple-A Memphis to fill the void on the roster. The infielder was batting .325 with eight home runs and 24 RBI with the minor league club this season.

Seabol can play both corner-infield spots, but expect him to get the majority of his time at third, serving as a backup to John Mabry. He has appeared in just one major league game in his career, that coming as a member of the New York Yankees in 2001.
