Craig Dingman

7/21/2005

After Kyle Farnsworth was touched for three ninth-inning runs and left with a stiff neck, Dingman came on to record the final out in Detroit's 8-6 win over the Chicago White Sox Wednesday. Since arriving a week ago, when closer Troy Percival went on the disabled list, Dingman has worked three scoreless innings, allowing one hit and one walk while fanning four. Wednesday's save was the second of his career. He also recorded one with Colorado in 2001.

On Thursday, the Detroit Tigers put closer Troy Percival on the 15-day disabled list and recalled Dingman from Triple-A Toledo. Dingman, a 31-year-old righthander, was 2-1 with four saves and a 2.81 ERA in 35 games with Toledo.
