Pablo Ozuna

11/19/2005

Ozuna will return to the Chicago White Sox in 2006. He agreed to a deal that will pay him $330,000 if he's in the minors and $500,000 if he makes the team. The 31-year-old Ozuna hit .276 with 14 steals in 70 games last season.

Ozuna remains day-to-day for the Chicago White Sox after taking a pitch off the left wrist a week ago. The middle infielder has missed five straight games with the injury, which cost him a chance to play with second baseman Tadahito Iguchi and shortstop Juan Uribe also injured. Both have since returned to the Chicago lineup.

Ozuna took a pitch off the left hand in the White Sox' game on Tuesday night. The middle infielder left the game and was unavailable for Wednesday night's contest against Oakland. With Tadahito Iguchi and Juan Uribe also hurt on Tuesday, Joe Crede played shortstop for Chicago on Wednesday.

The White Sox return home to host Detroit on Friday night. The off day on Thursday was a plus for Ozuna, whose status for Friday night's game is uncertain.
