Rafael Betancourt

The Cleveland Indians activated Betancourt from the 15-day disabled list Tuesday. The 31-year-old reliever has been sidelined since April 20 with a right upper back strain. In eight appearances this season, Betancourt is 0-0 with a 6.43 ERA over seven innings. To make room for him, the Indians optioned Jeremy Guthrie to Triple-A Buffalo.

The Cleveland Indians activated Betancourt on Monday, following his 10-day suspension for a banned performance-enhancing drug. The 30-year-old reliever is 2-2 with a 2.21 ERA in 29 appearances for Cleveland this season.

Betancourt has been suspended by Major League Baseball for violating it's drug policy. Betancourt tested positive for a banned performance-enhancing substance, and will have to miss 10 days while under suspension.

The Cleveland Indians placed Betancourt on the 15-day disabled list Sunday with a sore right shoulder. The righthanded reliever is expected to be out until after the All-Star break, as he has been instructed to not throw for seven days. His stint on the DL is retroactive to June 30.
