Ricky Ledee

5/4/2006

The Los Angeles Dodgers have placed Ledee on the 15-day disabled list with a pulled left groin. The reserve outfielder hurt his groin on a checked-swing third strike in the seventh inning of a 3-2 loss at Arizona on Monday night. Ledee is 8-for-31 (.258) with a homer and seven RBIs this season.

Ledee had to leave the Dodgers' Monday night game at Wrigley Field when his tender left hamstring gave him trouble. The left hammy has been an ongoing problem for the veteran outfielder all season, and it will remain an issue until the offseason. He is batting .292 with seven homers and 32 RBI in 83 games for the Dodgers.

An MRI on Ledee's ailing left hamstring has confirmed the original diagnosis of a strain. Not taking any chances, the Dodgers have placed the outfielder on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to June 5. Ledee was expected to see most of the time in right field during Milton Bradley's absence, but the club now will look to Jason Repko to fill the void.

Ledee was expected to take over in the Dodgers' outfield for the injured Milton Bradley, but he has missed the team's last two games with a sore left hamstring. On Tuesday, the outfielder will undergo an MRI to determine the extent of the injury. Jason Repko will remain in the starting lineup until Ledee is able to return.
