Desi Relaford

8/4/2005

Delaford was given his outright release from the Rockies.

7/30/2005

The Colorado Rockies designated Relaford for assignment Saturday, after the veteran utilityman struggled with both bat and glove over the past two months. In 36 games since June 5, Relaford has batted .128 (14-for-109) and committed six errors. For the season, he hit .224 in 210 at-bats.

4/13/2005

Relaford has been activated from the 15-day disabled list by the Colorado Rockies after being limited for nearly a month with cartilage damage in his left knee. The veteran infielder fills the roster spot of Alfredo Amezaga, who was designated for assignment on Tuesday.

Relaford will team with Luis Gonzalez to serve as the backup infielders for the Rockies. He spent last season with the Kansas City Royals, batting .221 with six home runs, 34 RBI and five stolen bases in 114 games.
