Amaury Telemaco

7/4/2005

For the second time in less than a month, Telemaco has been designated for assignment by the Philadelphia Phillies. The righthander, who will be replaced in the bullpen by veteran Tim Worrell, is 0-1 with a 4.22 ERA in seven relief appearances with Philly this season, but surrendered four earned runs on three hits -- including two home runs -- over his last four innings of work.

Telemaco was designated for assignment last week, but the Philadelphia Phillies have picked up his major league contract again after starting pitcher Randy Wolf went on the 15-day disabled list with elbow discomfort. Telemaco will work out of the Phillies' bullpen while Robinson Tejeda will start in place of Wolf on Friday.

The Philadelphia Phillies have purchased Telemaco's contract from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, filling the roster spot of veteran reliever Terry Adams. In nine appearances with the minor league club this season, including three starts the righthander was 0-1 with a 4.09 ERA.
