Brian Jordan

6/25/2006

Jordan is expected to miss six to eight weeks with a non-displaced fracture of his right clavicle. The Braves' veteran went on the disabled list on June 18 after he was struck near the collarbone on a ball hit by Boston's Alex Cora. Jordan then aggravated the injury before Saturday's 3-2 defeat to Tampa Bay. "He was throwing some balls out there and he popped it," Atlanta manager Bobby Cox said. "I guess the stress from getting hit made it weak."

Jordan was placed on the 15-day disabled list by the Braves with a bruised collarbone.

Jordan has been activated from the 15-day disabled list by the Atlanta Braves and is expected to be available for Thursday's meeting with the Washington Nationals. The veteran outfielder has been sidelined for nearly two months with inflammation and soreness in his left knee.

Jordan is nearing a return to the Atlanta Braves' lineup after missing more than a month with swelling and soreness in his troublesome left knee. The veteran outfielder began a minor league rehab assignment with Class-A Rome on Thursday, going 1-for-3 with a home run. Jordan, who is batting .244 with three home runs, 23 RBI and two stolen bases in 63 games this season, will be evaluated on a daily basis to determine his status and availability.

The swelling and soreness in Jordan's troublesome left knee have worsened recently, prompting the Atlanta Braves to place the veteran outfielder on the 15-day disabled list. Jordan, who is batting .244 with three home runs, 23 RBI and two stolen bases in 63 games this season, will be replaced on the roster by rookie Jeff Francouer.

Jordan, who is batting .244 with three home runs, 23 RBI and two stolen bases in 63 games this season, will be replaced on the roster by rookie Jeff Francouer.

Due to a sore left knee and some recent struggles at the plate, Jordan was given the last couple of days off by the Atlanta Braves. The outfielder, who was replaced in the lineup by Ryan Langerhans, plans to return to action for Tuesday's tussle with the San Diego Padres. This May, Jordan is hitting .222 with no home runs, three RBI and 10 strikeouts in 36 at-bats. For the year, he is batting .235 with two home runs and 17 RBI in 33 contests.

Jordan battled knee problems the past two years and was limited to just 127 games combined. His current ailment is not considered serious, and the time off should have helped. He'll resume his role as the Braves' regular left fielder.
