Kevin Frandsen

8/15/2006

Manager Felipe Alou has to wait until Tuesday to start infielder Kevin Frandsen, who was recalled Monday from Triple-A Fresno. The left side of Frandsen's face was still swollen when he arrived at Petco Park, the result of a fouled bunt that ricocheted off his face. Alou said that Frandsen will start at either shortstop or second base.

Frandsen, a top prospect in the San Francisco Giants' system, was optioned back to Triple-A Fresno Thursday night after filling in for the injured Ray Durham. Frandsen hit .250 in 44 at-bats with a double and two RBIs. He produced his first major league RBIs Thursday in the Giants' 9-3 victory over the Chicago Cubs.
