Craig Hansen

9/20/2005

The Boston Red Sox recalled Hansen, the 26th overall pick in June out of St. John's University, from their Double-A Portland affiliate. The 21-year-old righthander worked 12.2 innings at rookie-ball Fort Myers and Portland, giving up 11 hits and a walk. The 6-foot-6 Hansen fanned 14 and didn't allow a run. He debuted with a perfect inning of work against Tampa Bay on Monday, and he fanned two of the three batters he faced.
