The Rangers optioned Botts to Triple-A Oklahoma on Tuesday.

With the club needing another fresh arm in the bullpen, the Texas Rangers recalled lefthander C.J. Wilson Tuesday and optioned Botts to Triple-A Oklahoma after just a few days in the majors. A first baseman and outfielder, Botts didn't make his major league debut during his brief stay. He is batting .296 with 17 home runs and 63 RBI in 89 games for Oklahoma.

The Texas Rangers recalled Botts from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Saturday, taking the roster spot of Laynce Nix, who was placed on the disabled list with a jammed shoulder.
