The Marlins optioned Resop to Triple-A Albuquerque on Tuesday and recalled righty Yusmeiro Petit.

The Florida Marlins optioned Resop to Double-A Carolina after their 7-6 win over St. Louis on Tuesday. During a stay that lasted little more than 24 hours, the 22-year-old righthander worked a scoreless inning against the Cardinals on Monday. In two stints with the Marlins, Resop has posted a 7.45 ERA and 10 strikeouts in 9.2 innings.

On Monday, the Florida Marlins placed righthander John Riedling on the 15-day disabled list and recalled Resop from Double-A Carolina. The 22-year-old reliever was 3-2 with a 2.06 ERA and 24 saves for Carolina this season. In seven games for the Marlins in 2005, Resop has posted an 8.31 ERA.

Resop has been optioned to Double-A Carolina by the Florida Marlins. The 22-year-old righthander made his major league debut last month, but struggled during his time with the club. In seven relief appearances, he allowed eight runs on 11 hits, struck out eight and walked three.
