The Astros optioned Rodriguez to Triple-A Round Rock on Thursday. The 27-year-old left-hander, who led the team in victories, was 9-6 with a 5.22 ERA in 19 starts this season.

The Houston Astros recalled Rodriguez from Double-A Corpus Christi in time to start the second game of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Pittsburgh Pirates. The 26-year-old lefthander recorded the win, allowing four runs -- two earned -- on seven hits in six innings of work. He struck out six and walked just one.

Rodriguez was optioned to Double-A Chorpus Christi by the Astros following Friday's game with the Dodgers. This season Rodriguez is 4-4 with a 7.25 ERA in nine appearances.

Rodriguez has been recalled from Triple-A Round Rock by the Houston Astros. The lefthander is slated to take the mound against the Chicago Cubs on Monday night, filling in for veteran Andy Pettitte, who will be skipped this time through the starting rotation, due to tightness in his pitching elbow. In eight starts with the minor league club this season, Rodriguez is 4-2 with a 3.69 ERA. He has 48 strikeouts and 16 walks in 46.1 innings of work.
