Todd Coffey

5/10/2005

Despite posting a gaudy 11.25 ERA in three appearances during his first stint with Cincinnati this season, Coffey has been recalled from Triple-A Louisville by the Reds. The righthander takes the roster spot of fellow reliever Ben Weber, who will be sidelined indefinitely with a bulging disc in his neck.

Coffey does not warrant a spot on your fantasy squad.

Coffey has been optioned to Triple-A Louisville by the Cincinnati Reds, opening a spot on the roster for starter Ramon Ortiz, who was activated from the 15-day disabled list in time to start Sunday's game against the Milwaukee Brewers. Coffey appeared in three games during his short stint with the Reds, posting an 11.25 ERA.

Coffey has been recalled from Triple-A Louisville by the Cincinnati Reds. The righthander will fill the void in the Reds' bullpen while reliever Matt Belisle takes over the starting rotation spot of the injured Ramon Ortiz. In 10 appearances with the Reds in spring training, Coffey went 2-1 with a 10.64 ERA and one save.

Coffey will be making his major league debut. He likely won't be with the Reds for an extended period, so he has no fantasy value.
