The Baltimore Orioles recalled Rakers from Triple-A Ottawa on Tuesday. The righthanded reliever enjoyed an impressive season for Ottawa, going 6-5 with seven saves, a 2.57 ERA and 92 strikeouts in 77 innings. He allowed a solo homer in his only appearance for the Orioles in August.

To make room for Saturday's starter, John Maine, the Baltimore Orioles optioned Rakers to Triple-A Ottawa. The 28-year-old righthander made one relief appearance while with the Orioles, allowing a run in 1.1 innings.

Rakers was called up from Triple-A Ottawa, where he was 5-4 with seven saves and a 2.48 ERA in 47 appearances.
