Pedro Liriano

4/19/2005

With Vincente Padilla coming off the 15-day disabled list in time to start Tuesday's game against the New York Mets, the Philadelphia Phillies have optioned Liriano to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre to open a spot on the 25-man roster. In three relief appearances this season, the righthander has allowed four earned runs on six hits over 4.2 innings of work.

Gavin Floyd, who had been starting in Padilla's absence, will move to the bullpen and fill Liriano's spot.
