Harris has been optioned back to Triple-A New Orleans by the Washington Nationals, opening a spot on the roster for veteran infielder Wil Cordero, who was activated from the 15-day disabled list on Monday. Harris appeared in just four games during his short stint with the major league club, going 3-for-9 with a double, home run and three RBI.

Harris has been recalled from Triple-A New Orleans by the Washington Nationals, filling the roster spot of outfielder Jeffrey Hammonds, who will miss at least a couple of weeks with a right hamstring injury. The infielder was batting .279 with six home runs and 29 RBI in 42 games with the minor league club this season.
