Clint Nageotte

8/4/2005

Nageotte, who was recalled on Wednesday, stuck around long enough to make his 2005 debut with the Mariners. He worked 1.1 innings of Seattle's 10-7 loss to Detroit Wednesday, before he was sent back to Triple-A Tacoma on Thursday to make room for Thursday's starter, pitching phenom Felix Hernandez.

On Wednesday, the Seattle Mariners placed righthander Jorge Campillo on the 15-day disabled list and recalled Nageotte from Triple-A Tacoma. A 24-year-old righthander with a terrific slider, Nageotte has moved to the bullpen this season, after spending April, May and June on the sidelines for elbow and back woes. He has been a dominant reliever since joining the Tacoma pen at the end of June, posting a 0.83 ERA and two saves in his first 12 appearances.
