Luis Gonzalez

8/26/2005

Gonzalez was absent from the Colorado Rockies' starting lineup for the second consecutive night, but came in as a defensive replacement late in Thursday's meeting with the Los Angeles Dodgers. The infielder has missed two starts after suffering a bruised right index finger when he was hit by a pitch on Tuesday.

Gonzalez suffered a bruised left arm when he was hit by a pitch in the third inning of Tuesday's loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Rockies' infielder remained in the game for a couple innings after getting plunked, but left for good in the fifth. Precautionary X-rays were negative, and he is not expected to miss much time.
