The Rangers have recalled pitcher Erasmo Ramirez from Triple-A Oklahoma. In seven relief appearances with the big league club this season, Ramirez has a 5.40 ERA, while striking out just two in 8.1 innings.

The Texas Rangers optioned Ramirez to Triple-A Oklahoma on Saturday. Ramirez has appeared in seven games with the Rangers this season, going 0-0 with a 5.40 ERA.

Before Tuesday's game in Fenway Park, the Texas Rangers put starter Ricardo Rodriguez on the 15-day disabled list and replaced him on the roster with Ramirez. The 29-year-old lefty reliever has posted a 4.50 ERA in five games with the Rangers this season.

The Texas Rangers recalled Ramirez from Triple-A Oklahoma Thursday. The 29-year-old lefthander posted a save and a 2.70 ERA in eight relief appearances for Oklahoma. He has spent nearly all of the 2005 season on the disabled list with a strained finger tendon in his pitching hand. In 2004, Ramirez was 5-3 with a 4.29 ERA in 34 games for Texas.
