The Yankees designated Anderson for assignment on Saturday. The right-hander was 1-0 with a 7.94 ERA in three appearances for New York last season. He went 4-1 with a 2.66 ERA in 66 games for Triple-A Columbus.

The New York Yankees optioned Anderson to Triple-A Columbus Monday, in order to make room on the roster for outfielder Bubba Crosby. Anderson was recalled at the end of June, and in three appearances, he was 1-0 and posted a 7.94 ERA and seven walks in 5.2 innings.

On Wednesday, the New York Yankees optioned outfielder Kevin Reese to Triple-A Columbus and recalled Anderson from the same affiliate. The 26-year-old reliever has been solid at Columbus, going 4-1 with two saves and a 2.85 ERA.
