To make room for Travis Hafner's return from the disabled list Thursday, the Cleveland Indians optioned Dubois to Triple-A Buffalo. The rookie outfielder, acquired from the Chicago Cubs for Jody Gerut in mid-July, was 8-for-33 (.242) with two homers in 10 games for the Indians.

The Chicago Cubs have traded Dubois to the Cleveland Indians in exchange for fellow outfielder Jody Gerut. The 26-year-old slugger began the 2005 campaign in a platoon situation with Todd Hollandsworth in left field for Chicago, but most recently was playing with Triple-A Iowa. He is expected to join the Indians on Tuesday.

With his recent problems both offensively and defensively, Dubois has been optioned to Triple-A Iowa by the Chicago Cubs. The outfielder, who was platooning in left field with Todd Hollandsworth, is batting just .239 with seven home runs and 22 RBI in 52 games this season. He will be replaced on the roster by Adam Greenberg.

Dubois began the season in a platoon situation with Todd Hollandsworth in left field for the Chicago Cubs. However, because of his solid play, the 26-year-old outfielder has been getting the majority of the starts recently. He went 1-for-4 with a three-run homer in Sunday's 4-3 victory over the Chicago White Sox.
