Ryan Langerhans

5/9/2005

Langerhans got the starting nod in right field for the Atlanta Braves on Sunday and took full advantage of the opportunity. The rookie went 3-for-5 with a double, two home runs and a career-high six RBI to lead the team in a 16-0 victory over the Houston Astros. He connected for two-run homers in the second and seventh innings.

Serving primarily as a backup this season, Langerhans currently is hitting .237 with three homers and eight RBI in 19 games (38 at-bats). Barring injury to the Braves' regulars, he will remain in the bench role going forward.
