Kevin Gryboski

7/22/2006

Gryboski was optioned to Triple-A New Orleans on Saturday when the Nationals recalled outfielder Ryan Church. Gryboski made four appearances compiling a 13.50 ERA with no decisions during his week-long stint in the majors. "I'll be back. I've just got to stay positive. I've just got to go down there and fine-tune my game," Gryboski said. "I'm not going to say I didn't have my chances."

Gryboski was fined an undisclosed amount and suspended for three games for what Major League Baseball termed "inappropriate actions" during an 8-7 loss to the Boston Red Sox on August 9.

The Texas Ranger recalled reliever Scott Feldman from Double-A Frisco and optioned Gryboski to Triple-A Oklahoma on Tuesday. Gryboski has struggled with his control this season. He was 1-1 with an 11.17 ERA in 11 relief appearances for the Rangers. In 9.2 frames, he's given up 17 hits and eight walks.

The Atlanta Braves have traded Gryboski to the Texas Rangers in exchange for minor league righthander Matt Lorenzo. In 31 relief appearances this season, the righthanded Gryboski has posted a 2.95 ERA and 1.69 WHIP.

On Sunday, the Atlanta Braves activated Gryboski from the disabled list. The righthanded reliever has been battling a viral infection. Before he went on the DL, Gryboski had posted a 1.29 ERA in 11 relief appearances for the Braves. To make room for his return, Frank Brooks was optioned to Triple-A Richmond.

5/11/2005

Gryboski continues to be sidelined with a viral infection, so the Atlanta Braves have decided to place him on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to May 7. The righthander, who has a 1.29 ERA in 11 relief appearances this season, will be replaced in the bullpen by Frank Brooks.

Gryboski should be ready to be activated when eligible on May 22.
