Brady Clark

2/8/2006

Avoiding arbitration, Clark and the Milwaukee Brewers agreed Wednesday to a two-year contract worth $7 million. The outfielder will make $3.2 million this year and $3.8 million in 2007.

Clark was activated from the disabled list for tonight's game against the Atlanta Braves.

8/24/2005

Clark resumed taking batting practice with the Milwaukee Brewers on Tuesday, as he nears a return to the starting lineup. The outfielder, who has been sidelined since August 10 with bruised ribs, should be ready to come off the 15-day disabled list later this week, when eligible.

8/18/2005

According to Brewers manager Ned Yost, Clark is still a week away from returning to the lineup, so the team has decided to place him on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to August 11. The outfielder suffered bruised ribs when he collided with Cardinals second baseman Hector Luna while trying to break up a double play in the third inning of last Wednesday's meeting with St. Louis and has been sidelined since. Prince Fielder was recalled to fill the void on the roster.

According to Brewers manager Ned Yost, Clark's bruised right rib cage has shown significant improvement over the last couple of days, and he should be back in the lineup shortly. The outfielder has been sidelined since colliding with Cardinals second baseman Hector Luna while trying to break up a double play in the third inning of last Wednesday's meeting with St. Louis.

Clark was able to jog off the field under his own power after colliding with Cardinals second baseman Hector Luna while trying to break up a double play in the third inning of Wednesday's meeting with St. Louis. However, the outfielder did not return to the field for the next inning, due to a bruised right rib cage. The injury is not considered serious, and the team has listed Clark as day-to-day.

If Clark continues to produce at the plate, it will make it much easier for the Brewers to forget about Scott Podsednik, who they traded to the Chicago White Sox in the offseason. The team's new everyday center fielder went 4-for-5 with a home run and two runs scored in Tuesday's win over the Washington Nationals, boosting his season batting average to .350.

Although Clark won't swipe as many bases as Podsednik, he should make up for it in the other categories. In 38 games this season, he has nine doubles, five home runs, 19 RBI and three stolen bases. He's also tied with Colorado's Clint Barmes for the National League lead in runs scored (32).

5/2/2005

Clark turned in his best peformance of the 2005 campaign, going 4-for-6 with a pair of doubles and three runs scored in Sunday's victory over the Cincinnati Reds. The outfielder, who stepped in as the Brewers' everyday center fielder after Scott Podsednik was dealt to the Chicago White Sox, has hit safely in 19 of 24 games this season.

For the year, Clark is batting .317 with three home runs, 13 RBI and three stolen bases. Now that he's playing regularily, you should expect double-digit totals in both home runs and stolen bases, as well as an average around .280.
