Chin-Feng Chen

7/24/2005

The Dodgers designated Chen for assignment on Saturday, a move that coincided with the activation of outfielder Milton Bradley from the disabled list. Chen had been recalled from Triple-A in early July to help compensate for injuries to Bradley, J.D. Drew and Ricky Ledee. In eight plate appearances this month, Chen had a pair of hits and four strikeouts.

Chen has been recalled from Triple-A Las Vegas by the Los Angeles Dodgers, filling the roster spot of injured J.D. Drew, who will be sidelined indefinitely with a broken bone in his left wrist. In 61 games with the minor league club this season, Chen was batting .287 with 10 home runs and 47 RBI.
