Matt Anderson

7/7/2005

Anderson has been sent outright to Triple-A Colorado Springs by the Colorado Rockies, opening a spot on the roster for righthander Shawn Chacon, who was activated from the 15-day disabled list in time to take the mound against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Wednesday. In 12 relief appearances with the Rockies this season, Anderson posted a gaudy 12.60 ERA.

Seeing his first major league action in nearly two years, Anderson allowed two runs on one hit and a walk in two-thirds of an inning in Monday's matchup with the St. Louis Cardinals. The righthander, who was the first overall pick in the 1997 Draft, was recalled from Triple-A Colorado Springs earlier in the day to fill the roster spot of injured reliever Jose Acevedo.
