Scott Eyre

8/16/2006

The Cubs placed Eyre on the 15-day disabled list after he strained his right hamstring in Tuesday's 8-6 victory.

11/18/2005

A heavily pursued lefty reliever, Eyre agreed to join the Chicago Cubs on Thursday. The 33-year-old veteran accepted a three-year, $11 million contract. He will earn $3 million in 2006, and $4 million in each of the following two years. The deal includes a $1.5 million signing bonus, and a no-trade clause and the third year is the player's option.

Eyre set a franchise record for most appearances in a season when he pitched in his 86th game of the year Saturday.
