Aaron Boone

7/3/2006

Boone was in a 4-for-42 slump before hitting a two-run, tiebreaking homer in the eighth inning of Cleveland's 6-3 win over Cincinnati on Sunday. It was the third baseman's first homer since June 7. Overall, he's batting .253 with four homers and 32 RBIs in his second season with the Indians.

Boone went 4-for-5 with a homer and four RBIs in Cleveland's 8-2 win over the Chicago White Sox on Tuesday. The Cleveland third baseman hit a solo shot off White Sox reliever Neil Cotts in the seventh inning. He also contributed to three-run rallies in the fourth and fifth frames with run-scoring hits.

Boone is expected to be in the lineup for the Indians' game against the Balitimore Orioles tonight.

Prior to batting practice, Boone was in the Cleveland Indians' starting lineup for their Tuesday night game against Texas, but the third baseman didn't make the start because of a neck strain. He is day-to-day and may miss a game or two. He is batting .234 with 10 home runs and 42 RBI this season.

8/3/2005

After seeing improvement in Boone's play since June, the Cleveland Indians restructured the third baseman's contract for 2006 and exercised their option on it Wednesday. The new deal also includes a mutual option for 2007.

6/22/2005

Boone is battling strep throat and was a late scratch from the Cleveland Indians' lineup on Tuesday as a result. The third baseman, who is batting just .200 with seven home runs, 24 RBI and four stolen bases in 59 games this season, has been listed as day-to-day. Casey Blake shifted from his regular spot in right field and got his second start of the season at the hot corner in Boone's stead.
