Brown came out on top over the Kansas City Royals Thursday in the second salary arbitration hearing of the year. The 31-year-old outfielder will get his desired $1,775,000 rather than the team's proposed $1.4 million.

Brown's career-best hitting streak reached 16 games on Wednesday, as the Royals' outfielder recorded a double in four at-bats in a 3-1 win over Minnesota. During his 16-game run, Brown is batting .391 (25-for-64) with six doubles, nine RBI and 13 runs scored.

Brown had two more hits on Tuesday in Kansas City's 11-8 loss to Minnesota. The Royals' outfielder extended his hitting streak to 15 games, and he's a .400 hitter (24-for-60) with five doubles and 13 runs scored during the streak.

Brown collected two of the Royals' six hits on Monday night, when Joe Mays and the Minnesota Twins shut down Kansas City, 3-1. The Royals' outfielder now has a 14-game hitting streak in which he is 22-for-56 (.393) with four doubles, nine RBI and 12 runs scored. For the season, he's a .295 hitter with a .363 on-base percentage, 37 RBI and 39 runs scored in 65 games.
