Todd Hollandsworth

8/10/2006

Hollandsorth made his Reds debut in Thursday's 6-1 loss to the Cardinals, when he grounded to first to lead off the ninth inning as a pinch hitter. The left fielder was acquired by the Reds on Wednesday from the Cleveland Indians in exchange for a player to be named later or cash.

The Reds acquired Hollandsworth from the Cleveland Indians on Wednesday for a player to be named.

Hollandsworth was traded by the Cubs to Atlanta on Monday for two minor leaguers, pitchers Angelo Burrows and Todd Blackford. The outfielder will provide outfield depth and a lefthanded bat on the bench for the Braves during the last month of the season and into the playoffs.

Hollandsworth looks like the person who will lose the most at-bats with the Cubs' acquisition of Matt Lawton on Sunday. Lawton will be the leadoff man the Cubs have been looking for, and the lefthanded hitter probably will start in left, where Hollandsworth has been getting most of the starts.
