Eischen has been activated from the 15-day disabled list by the Washington Nationals, and he will be available when the team begins a three-game series against the Chicago Cubs on Friday. The 35-year-old lefthander has been sidelined since breaking his right arm when he jumped off the mound to grab a high chopper in a game against the Mets on May 1.

Eischen will be placed on the 15-day disabled list by the Washington Nationals, one day after breaking his right arm in a game against the New York Mets. The lefthander, who suffered the injury when he jumped off the mound to grab a high chopper in the seventh inning of Sunday's contest, will undergo surgery on Monday and is expected to be sidelined at least two months. He is the only lefty currently on the Nationals' pitching staff.

Eischen is tied for the team lead with 15 appearances this season, going 1-0 with a 4.15 ERA. He'll be out until about the All-Star break.
