Mike Timlin

6/13/2006

Timlin was activated from the disabled list on Tuesday. The Boston Red Sox reliever was disabled on May 26 with a right shoulder strain after going 3-0 with a 1.40 ERA in 21 appearances.

5/28/2006

Timlin was placed on the 15-day disabled list by the Red Sox on Sunday, due to a right shoulder strain. Manny Delcarmen was recalled from Triple-A Pawtucket to take the roster spot created by the move.

11/3/2005

Timlin and the Boston Red Sox have come to terms on a one-year, $3.5 million deal for the 2006 season. One of the few steady performers in the Boston pen in 2005, the 39-year-old right-hander was 7-3 with 13 saves and a 2.24 ERA in 81 relief appearances.

With Curt Schilling returning to the Red Sox rotation this week, Timlin will assume the closer role, at least until Keith Foulke rounds into shape after coming off the disabled list.

7/6/2005

With Keith Foulke sidelined with a left knee injury, Timlin protected a 7-4 Boston lead with a 1-2-3 inning in Tuesday's final frame to pick up his second save of the season. Timlin has been solid in 2005, posting a 3-1 record and 1.73 ERA in 41 appearances for the Red Sox.
